Permit Description / Scope
Paragone Roofing began the project to replace the ledger board. They removed the deck and disconnected the two sets of steps and replaced the rotted ledger board. No further rot was found. They replaced the ledger board, reconnected the deck and steps and put the railings in place temporarily so the tenants in Apt 6 could return to the unit and use the deck. Paragone was supposed to remove a small portion of the siding to replace the trex on the upper deck. When I checked into whether they had a permit for the ledger board, I was told no. Needless to say after 30 days of them not showing up a new company has been hired to repair everything they left unfinished at a much larger price than the $8000 that was originally quoted for this job. Paragone had removed most of the siding by apt 5 and the weather shield they used has been coming off already. It turns out the certainteed siding can not be patched back together it must be completely replaced when large quantities of it are removed. Paragone was also going to switch the way the gutter runs. A separate company was going to be hired switch the gurrer to run have the the water in a different direction. The new company will dig a whole to have the gutter stop running under the other deck and into the basement of the 177 Bartlett St basement. Needless to say it would be appreciated if a pre-inspection could be done before the new contractors complete a job someone else started.
