We pull directly from each city's open data portal every day. This page shows the last ingest time, source lag, and permit volume for every market we cover.
We pull each city's permit API daily at 4–6 AM UTC. The source lag is the median difference between when a city publishes a permit and when we ingested it — shorter is better.
Austin, Seattle, NYC, and LA also have direct-feed ingest that runs every 2 hours alongside the daily Socrata pull. NYC uses DOB NOW Build (w9ak-ipjd); LA uses the LADBS permit dataset (p8h5-wgk8). These direct feeds reduce lag from 3–7 days to 12–24 hours for those markets.
Territory seats are exclusive — HVAC, plumbing, roofing, and 20+ trades. One contractor per trade per ZIP.
